Jennifer Chalbaud is a fashion designer from South America who displayed a natural talent in drawing/illustration at an early age. These abilities soon drove her to begin a career in design. She learned to sew while studying Industrial Design and later graduated from CFA Brimen as a Fashion Designer in 2003. She quickly started her own handmade Bags & Purses line and her some of dresses were shown on many fashion runways. Jennifer is currently working on fashion design and also creating abstract paintings.

TH: Who is your greatest Fashion influence?
JC: Absolutely love Donatella Versace’s work specially Atelier Versace’s collections! I find inspiring her sexy and elegant style besides the structure of her designs.
TH: How do you feel about size issues (models, sample sizes) in the industry?
JC: I think Fashion industry should promote more healthy body images. It would be nice to see a balance in the advertisings between the different types of bodies and sizes showing how great clothes can really make you look like regardless if you’re short or tall or big. Everybody would feel more comfortable in their own skin if they really know how to choose the right outfit. In my country, models have curves, but it’s common to have body implants and that doesn’t look too stylish to me. The Industry should help more people understand their own bodies and show what to wear instead of continued or repetitive messages of how your body has to look!
TH: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned about your career?
JC: Actually I’m still learning , that success requires a constant hard work , perseverance , training , study and lots of discipline!
TH:Do you collect anything?
JC: I’m trying to be more practical…I’m not collecting anything right now since then things starts to collect by its own… dust!
TH: What do you listen to while you work?
JC: I’m hard hearing so I feel it more pleasant if I work in silence , but I like pop-rock , soft-rock and Spanish rock when developing a project.
