In the BCBGMAXAZRIA Creative Invite from Talenthouse - one that would determine the Face of BCBG for their 2013 Spring Campaign – participants ranged from experienced industry professionals to neophytes looking to get things started in the fashion world. Equipped with a few photographs and a healthy dose of modeling confidence, newcomer Lacey Plunkett took her shot, submitted her images – and was directly selected as a Semifinalist from amongst hundreds of aspiring models by BCBG’s expert personnel.
We surprised her with the good news in a video interview before she was flown to Los Angeles to exercise her runway instincts for a BCBG photoshoot. After viewing the clips, you can read up on her sense of style, her choice for theme music, what makes her a “character collector” and which pursuits she’s entertaining for the future.
TH: How did you become involved in this BCBG Creative Invite?
Lacey Punkett: I became involved with the BCBG creative invite through an ad on Facebook. I love the brand and had the pictures to submit so I thought, “why not?”
TH: How would you describe your individual sense of fashion? Is there any specific attire that you enjoy donning for different activities? (Feel free to answer this in terms of general style and/or types of clothing.)
Lacey: My individual everyday sense of fashion could be described as casual classy. I like to keep it simple and clean with a point of interest (usually shoes) in each outfit. The stores that would describe my fashion well would be Express and Bakers.

TH: Do you have other creative interests in addition to modeling?
Lacey: Other interests besides modeling include yoga, shopping, environmental science, gardening, sociology and psychology. I love people. Some would say I am a character collector due to my wide and crazy variety of friends.
TH: Where do you find inspiration to express yourself – in modeling or in any other medium?
Lacey: I find inspiration to express myself not just with modeling, but in any situation, really. Especially when I am around new people. Usually people misread me when they meet me unless I make the effort to get to know them. People used to think I was a “snob” when they first met me because I used to be shy. That really bothered me and now when I meet someone I make sure they get an accurate perception of my personality.
TH: Feel free to laugh at this notion, but do you possibly have a personal theme song (if not for life, perhaps just for this month)?
Lacey: I have a theme song for each of my moods. At the gym, it’s 50 Cent. When I’m stressed, it’s Enya. I could always go for some Alanis Morrisette or some Beatles. Right now, my theme song is “Dynamite” by Taio Cruz.
TH: What question do you wish I had asked? Feel free to answer it.
Lacey: I wish you would’ve asked what my dream job is. My dream job is to learn how to master the art of modeling and be successful in representing a classy, sophisticated, good-hearted company’s clothing.

Kudos to Lacey! We hope that you’ve enjoyed your BCBG photoshoot and wish you the best of luck in your future creative endeavors!
