In one of our most innovative Creative Invites yet, Metro UK asked designers to dust off their tablets and submit artwork paying homage to their cities. Alison Moody of London is the winner with her submission, “Vibrant London.”

In the description for her submission, Ali explained, “When I visit London, it is mostly in the evening. What I see is an array of lights and colours that stand out beautifully against the dark sky. My drawing is inspired by these colours and mixed emotions I feel whilst walking along the river or travelling through the busy markets. I am proud to live in London – and I wanted to portray the colour, creativity and unique vibe I feel whilst in my city that I love.”
Ali’s design will be featured in the Behind the Idea page that’s featured in Metro’s national publications. She’ll receive a framed copy of their artwork and £1000 and have her artwork featured in the Tablet Edition of the paper and on Metro’s Facebook page.
The four highest-voted artists are AR Manalo for his submission of Taguig City, Florencia Raffa of Argentina who submitted her vision of an imaginary city, Alexandros Nikolis Oneata for his submission of West Pier Brighton and Venkata Siva Kumar Kaku for her submission of Bangalore. Each will have their artwork featured in a copy of Metro, on the Tablet Edition and on Metro’s Facebook page and receive a framed copy of their artwork.
Metro, the third largest newspaper in the UK, reaches 3.6 million readers daily and is available across 50 UK cities.
Your designs were a joy to look at! We can’t wait to see more of it in future Creative Invites.
