Gary Clark Jr. and LP are seeking a poster design that encapsulates the culture of Chicago and the spirit of music fest Lollapalooza to promote the sold-out after show they’ll be playing. One winner will receive the unique gift of a signed Martin Guitar custom LP ukelele and have their design produced as the official online show poster, to be seen by millions around the globe.

Gary Clark Jr. is among the most acclaimed upcoming artists, having performed at Bonnaroo two years in a row and at the 2010 Crossroads Festival alongside Eric Clapton, Sheryl Crow, Jeff Beck and John Mayer. His Bright Lights EP ranked in Rolling Stone‘s Top 50 Albums of 2011, and his debut is on the way.

The blues guitarist began playing at the age of twelve and launched his career with the help of promotor Clifford Antone, who also helped to launch the careers of Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan. At the age of 17, he received the distinction of having mayor Kirk Watson of Austin declare May 3 Gary Clark Jr. Day. This came as a result of Clark winning the Austin Music Award for Best Blues and Electric Guitarist on three different occasions.

LP

American TV viewers may have heard LP’s voice singing “Somebody left the gate open” in a certain rock-climbing mountainesque Citibank commercial. That snippet of her song ‘Into the Wild’ ramped up her Google searches, along with her popularity.

She’s written songs for Rihanna and Christina Aguilera but now she’s ready to rise to the top with her Jeff-Buckley-meets-Florence-and-the-Machine-meets-Janis-Joplin style. She’s often seen with a ukelele in hand.

This opportunity is not to be missed by fans of either artist, as the winner and highest voted artist will each receive a pair of tickets to see Gary Clark Jr. or LP at any show in 2012. The winner will also receive $750. More prizes can be seen on the Creative Invite page.

We’ll check your designs out on July 23, 2012.
