Interpret Downlink’s Logo for a T-Shirt

Whether you dug former CI host Korn‘s most recent album or you just love yourself some dubstep, bass technician Downlink is an artist worth getting acquainted with. Downlink brings his own heavy brand of bass to his tunes and has worked with Mau5trap and OWSLA. Of course, if you went to EDC this year you may have caught the Canadian DJ in action.

He was involved in both the producing and mixing of Korn’s album The Path of Totality, which released in 2011. The nu-metal band then brought him along on tour, where he played to massive arenas. He’s also held down 4 of the top 10 spots in dubstep on the Beatport charts.

Downlink first met dubstep in 2007, shortly after which he released his ‘Ignition’ EP. The album garnered him support from the likes of Excision, Datsik, Stenchman, Borgore, DZ, 16 Bit, Dieselboy, Evol Intent, Crookers and many more. His influence stems from heavy metal to astrophysics.

Now Downlink is asking graphic designers to marry their love of dubstep with their talent and submit interpretations of his logo to be produced on a T-shirt that will be sold as official merchandise. “I’m in the process of getting a bunch of merch created, and I thought it’d be cool if I threw it out to the fans to see if one of you guys can come up with a cool design,” he says in the above video.

The winning designer will receive 50% of the profits from the first week of the shirt’s net sales, plus online exposure, a Skype session with Downlink and signed merchandise. Three highest-voted artists will receive social media exposure and a signed merchandise package.
