Serj Tankian, who’s best known as the frontman of System of a Down, just became the latest fan of Finnish producer Jay Ray. Serj chose Jay Ray’s remix of his song ‘Figure It Out’ from his new album Harakari as the winner of his Creative Invite.

In addition to his work in music production, Jay Ray is a vocalist, songwriter and remixer with a goal to release solo material and remixes. We think he’s off to a great start with Serj’s stamp of approval and the $3000 incentive. Check out the music he’s posted on his profile and check him out on Facebook.

The Maniac Agenda has been named the runner-up by Serj. They’re a “genre defying three headed monster” from Camden, New Jersey. This is hardly their first foray into remixing. Past remixes have been released on EMI UK and Red Bull Records. They have also DJ’d at several music festivals among performers like Pretty Lights and Flying Lotus.

They dabble in a little bit of everything, including dance/electronic, drum and bass, electronica, experimental, hardcore, hip hop, metal, rap, rock and trip-hop. Made up of members Satisfaction, Leo, and Ramen, The Maniac Agenda openly derives inspiration from creatures under your bed and things that go BOOM!

The people’s choice was Khatchadour Babelian of France, a composer/audio engineer who “rejects the use of traditional composing techniques, and embraces a unique customizable approach to the art of music.”

Clearly Khatchadour’s approach works, as he has a long and impressive list of credits on his portfolio that include L’Oréal, Christian Dior and Apple.
