No Doubt is ready to recapture the charts after a near decade-long absence, and they’re heating up with a great Creative Invite! With their sixth studio album, Push and Shove, due out on September 25, 2012, the band is on the lookout for a new band logo that’s just as fierce and fabulous as frontwoman Gwen Stefani.
It’s been a long adventure since the band first formed in 1986. After nearly a decade of obscurity, the band went on to top the charts with hits like ‘Just A Girl’ and ‘Don’t Speak.’ Their 1995 album Tragic Kingdom went platinum, which put a spotlight on them that has managed to remain even throughout their hiatus.
In 1991, legendary producer Jimmy Iovine predicted Gwen, who was originally a backup singer for the band, would be a star in five years. His prediction came true; by 1996 Gwen’s bindi, platinum blonde hair and midriff were on magazine covers everywhere.

As the band moved into the 21st century, they explored several musical collaborations, including ‘Hey Baby’ with Bounty Killer and ‘Underneath It All’ with Lady Saw.
The band’s hiatus hardly registered as a vacation. “A lot of stuff happened during that time period,” Gwen told Rolling Stone. “Marriages, babies and, for me, two records and two clothing lines. So if you really worked out the math, you’d be like, ‘Wow, you guys are going fast.’”
While Gwen was getting in touch with her inner fashionista and Harajuku girl, Tony Kanal co-produced the hit “Sober” for former CI host P!nk. Drummer Adrian Young drummed for a little band called Maroon 5 and bassist Tom Dumont produced singer/songwriter Matt Costa‘s debut album.
The band’s record sales top out at 27 million, and with Push and Shove they’ve made it clear that there’s more where that came from. The best part is, they want to include their fans and aspiring creative designers in this new chapter of their career.
The artist with the winning submission will receive $3,000, a copy of Adobe Creative Suite 6 and a signed, framed copy of their artwork. The highest voted artist will receive $1000.
Don’t speak, just design and be sure to submit by September 2, 2012.
