TH: Could you tell us a little about yourself?
Zeynep: I was born in New York but grew up in Izmir. I’ve always known myself as a person you loves to sing. At the age of 14 I started playing the guitar. This allowed me to listen to to different music styles while writing my own music. I was able to start creating and singing. I later began singing as a vocalist for many different types of groups. I moved away to live in Holland where I was trying new things. However, while I was in Holland, I continued to work on writing my own music.  In 2005 I came to Istanbul. I started working as a studio technician assistant at Jingle Production. This allowed me to grasp a different side of music, the business side. Since 2008′ I’ve been working as a freelance artist creating music for web sites, games, short films and videos. Lastly, I finished the SAE Istanbul Audio Engineering program.

TH: Could you tell us about your work and style?
Zeynep: I usually do not use any technical tools when creating music. I mostly write my music using an akustik guitar. There are times where my guitar does all of the work. I just casually play and see that I am writing music. Sometimes, I’ll just sit with my guitar when something’s bothering me. This is why some of my songs are very melancholic.  I like when music is simple, akustik and like a melody. I do not think I am very good at developing and producing my music. This is why much of my music is recorded on an mp3. :)  Instead of working on my recordings, I’ll start writing a new song. :)

Talenthouse, allowed me to spend more time on creating and writing music!

TH: You entered the Neil Young Creative Invite, can you share your thoughts about Talenthouse?
Zeynep: Talenthouse, allowed me to spend more time on creating and writing music. For me, it was not so much about the prize, but about the motivation that I would gain from this creative invite. This is what is important for Talenthouse. It’s a platform that wants you to become motivated to share your work. Sharing your work is more important than winning a prize.  Talenthouse gives you the opportunity to enter a variety of different creative invites that you normally would not do on your own. It’s even better, because Talenthouse is a global platform. Artists that inspire you can anytime start a creative invite that you can be a part of. It’s great! :)
