How do iFrames work?
The iFrame/Creative Invite is a live piece of digital media that will automatically update from submissions, voting and winner announcement. An iFrame plugs directly into a Facebook page (as an app on the left hand side) and can be embedded on any website.
What are the benefits of hosting an iFrame on a website or Facebook Page?
- Participants can enter and vote on the host iFrame without having to leave the host website
- Talenthouse’s voting engine drives new traffic back to the host iFrame
- The iFrame increases dwell time on the host website as users spend up to 8 minutes looking /commenting on submissions
How large is an iFrame?
600 or 735 pixels wide.
Are there other iFrame sizes available?
No.
What can I do if the iFrame is too large for my website size?
If the size is too big or small for the hosting website then the iFrame can be plugged into their Facebook page.
How do I install an iFrame?
Details are available here.
Host to provide a link to the webpage, together with size requirement to the designated Talenthouse representative, who will provide the iFrame code within a few hours.
The title of the iFrame within Facebook should be changed from ‘Invites’ to a title requiring a call to action such as ‘Model for BCBG’, for example.
Can the image rotate within the iFrame?
The main image stays the same and cannot rotate.
Can iFrames be customized?
The iFrame on Talenthouse.com is the iFrame that is seen all around the web, with the extra development costs may apply.
Can the iFrame be updated during the campaign?
Talenthouse can update the iFrame on request however we do not recommend making major changes to timings or incentives.
Can the campaign be ‘age gated’?
Talenthouse campaigns are currently open to anyone over the age of 18. An ‘age gate’ may be installed in front of the iFrame asking participants to enter their D.O.B. before entering.
Can the campaign include a ‘like gate’?
A ‘like gate’ maybe installed in front of the iFrame by the host brand on their Facebook page. Talenthouse can install a ‘like gate’ on request but we do not recommend this.
How to drive Facebook ‘likes’:
- The host may drive all supporting media traffic to the iFrame on their facebook page.
- The host’s Facebook ‘like’ buttons are installed on the right hand side of the ‘Creative Invite’ on Talenthouse.com
- Once a participant submits their work they are invited to ‘like’ the host artist / brand is promoting.
- Talenthouse recommends that hosts offer compelling and philanthropic reasons to ‘like’ them on Facebook which will naturally drive ‘likes’.
- Talenthouse recommends that the host include interesting content relating to the campaign on their Facebook page giving a reason for the participant to visit.
Collection of email data:
- Talenthouse only collects email addresses of submitting artists and does not usually share this data with the host.
- Talenthouse are able to contact all submitting artists on behalf of the host should it be required.
- Email data collection is possible, if essential, but additional development costs may apply.
- Talenthouse are able to collect email addresses using a custom call to action window (if specified by host)
How do artists submit their work?
- Artists are required to visit the ‘participate’ tab in the iFrame where there are instructions on how to upload their submission.
- Talenthouse supports YouTube and Vimeo for video submissions.
- Talenthouse supports SoundCloud, Mixcloud, and Indaba for audio submissions.
- Photography and all design submissions must be submitted in JPEG or PNG format.
- In all design campaigns, the Guidelines state that ‘The winning design may be modified to suite production requirements’. In this instance, we advise the host to connect with the winner to revise the design to finalization, under the host’s direction.
- A downloadable template may be used for design based challenges 0 this is to be provided by the host.
- Talenthouse recommends providing participants tools which may be required for the campaign including stems, mood-boards, video links, logos etc.
How many submissions can entrants submit?
Entrants may only submit one submission unless specified in the campaign. If more than one, submissions must be compiled into one file as only one submission may be voted on.
In most circumstances, 70% of submissions are submitted in the last week of the submission period.
View the submissions during the campaign:
On the day the campaign launches, hosts are provided with account access to the Talenthouse back office to view submissions as they come in. Hosts can also mark their favorite submissions.
What if submissions are not suitable?
Talenthouse and the host artist / brand are able to remove any unsuitable submissions from the back office throughout the campaign period. In this instance Talenthouse will notify the entrant to inform them that it has been removed.
How long does voting last?
The voting period lasts for one week.
Can the voting period be extended?
Talenthouse recommends one week to ensure it is the most climatic event of the campaign. Voting may be extended but must be requested before the campaign starts.
How many times can someone vote on a submission?
Voters are allowed to vote on as many submissions as they wish but only two votes per submission are allowed from any one voter: one through Facebook, the other through Twitter.
Can submitting artists view other participant’s submissions?
When an artist submits to Talenthouse they are provided with a link which they can post to their friends before voting starts. A countdown to voting is included.
Can voting be rewarded?
Incentivising voting with prizes is not permitted, however, Talenthouse offers a ’Thank You for voting’ pop up feature where hosts may include a Facebook ‘like’ op-in, coupon download, video promo streams or data capture.
How are the winner(s), Runner-up(s) and highest voted artist(s) selected?
The host selects the winner(s) and runner-up(s).
Multiple runner-up(s) may be selected if applicable to the campaign.
What if the host selects the highest voted artist as their winner?
The highest voted artist will be named as the winner and will be entitled to the incentives offered to the winner and highest voted.
How are winners notified?
Winners are contacted by Talenthouse’s team over a Skype video conference which is recorded and provided back to the host.
Who is responsible for promoting the campaign?
- Talenthouse provides an unlimited number of iFrames for the host and their supporting partners to plug in.
- The host brand is responsible for plugging in iFrames to their Facebook pages and owned websites and creating any supporting campaign content.
- Talenthouse co-ordinates a mainstream PR approach with the host’s marketing teams and supporting agencies.
- It is the responsibility of the host and supporting partners to post and tweet about the campaign a minimum of 2-3 times a week in the submission period and twice during voting to ensure reach efficiency.
- The host is required to produce a press release.
- Talenthouse will provide a boilerplate and links.
What languages are available?
Talenthouse campaign iFrames are currently translated into…
- English, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and Turkish
Can a banner or other advertising assets be provided?
Talenthouse can provide a campaign banner on request in special circumstances, however, would recommend that these be created by the host.
What type of reporting is provided?
A Mid-Campaign Report is sent to the host every Monday during the submission period. This (MCR) report includes the current number of submissions, the number of people who clicked the ‘Participate’ tab and the number of unique views the Creative Invite has received to date.
A Post-Campaign Report (PCR) is sent to the host on the day of the winner announcement. This report includes complete data accrued throughout the campaign, together with a list of media outlets which covered the campaign and carried the iFrame.
Talenthouse Recommends:
- Regular posting and tweeting about the campaign.
- Regular posting of favorite submissions which may be obtained from the back office.
- Regular dialogue with the community, such as advice and tips on submission criteria.
- Regular posting including topical information about the challenge.
- Answering posts and tweets from submitting artists that have been posted directly onto the host’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
What are the entrants privacy rights?

Does the host own the copyright to all of the submissions?
Copyright is only assigned to the host artist / brand when stated in the official rules and guidelines.
